Nepal on flood alert as Budhi Gandaki swells and bridges are swept away in Gorkha

Fresh flooding in Nepal’s Gorkha district destroyed three bridges and damaged several houses, police said.
A landslide had blocked the Budhi Gandaki river, causing water to surge through settlements downstream.
The loss of the bridges has cut off links between villages, with about 20 houses in Salleri at risk.
It follows the August 26 disaster that killed over 1,455 people in Nepal, with 5,285 still missing.
