Nepal PM calls deadly floods a “warning to the world” at UN
- Nepal PM Balendra Shah called last month’s catastrophic floods a “warning to the world” on climate change.
- The glacier-linked flood killed at least 1,400 people, while more than 6,000 remain missing weeks later.
- Shah said Nepal emits less than 0.1% of global greenhouse gases but is paying a huge price for climate change.
- He urged grant-based global support and stronger Nepal-India-China cooperation on Himalayan climate resilience.
