Oil India makes natural gas discovery in Krishna-Godavari basin block

State-owned Oil India said on Friday it made a gas discovery in a shallow-water Krishna Godavari block.
The Godavari-1 well recorded a peak flow of 200,000 cubic metres a day and 170 barrels of condensate.
Testing at a depth of 2,024-2,027 metres began on 16 October, and the next higher zone will be tested.
OIL gave no resource estimate; the government wants gas at 15% of the energy mix by 2030, from 6% now.
