Old Monk maker withdraws plea against FSSAI sales ban, agrees to revise labels
- Old Monk bottler Mohan Rocky Springwater withdrew its Bombay High Court plea against an FSSAI sales ban.
- FSSAI said the drink must be sold as a rum-flavoured spirit, not rum, as it has added flavouring.
- The regulator also objected to bottle claims of “7 Years Old Blended” and “Very Old Vatted”.
- The company withdrew after the court repeatedly refused to stay the ban, and will revise its labels.
