Over 2,300 railway-track trespassing cases reported in Bengaluru within two months
- Bengaluru recorded 2,311 cases of people entering or crossing railway tracks illegally within two months.
- Many people use the tracks as shortcuts instead of safer foot overbridges, subways or authorised crossings.
- Under the Railways Act, trespassing can attract a fine of up to ₹1,000, six months in jail, or both.
- Railway officials are increasing patrols and urging people to cross tracks only through designated routes.
