Former India captain Sachin Tendulkar said on Tuesday it is too early for Vaibhav Sooryavanshi to be vice-captain.
Tendulkar said the 15-year-old should play more red-ball matches and take one step at a time.
Selectors picked him over Abhimanyu Easwaran, who has over 100 first-class games, calling it developmental.
Bihar batter Sooryavanshi won the 2026 IPL Orange Cap with 776 runs after only eight first-class games.
