Shubman Gill equals MS Dhoni's record with seventh Player of the Series award
- India captain Shubman Gill equalled MS Dhoni's record of seven Player of the Series awards on Saturday.
- India clinched the ODI series 2-1 despite losing the decider to a record West Indies run chase.
- Gill earned the honor after scoring 110 in the opening match and a career-best unbeaten 233 in the second ODI.
- Remarkably, all seven of Gill's series awards have come since 2022, while no other Indian player has won more than three in that period.
