Study finds UK students among top performers globally, but reading remains a concern
- UK pupils have performed strongly in the latest international tests, ranking among the higher-performing countries in reading and maths.
- The results are based on PISA assessments, which compare the academic performance of 15-year-olds across countries.
- England stands out within the UK, with differences in performance between the four nations highlighted by the latest data.
- The findings also point to concerns around falling reading performance and widening gaps, despite the UK’s relatively strong overall ranking.
