- Tamil Nadu CM Vijay ordered 26 new special POCSO courts on Sunday to speed up child abuse trials.
- The 26 courts cost Rs 46.59 crore and take the state to 52 POCSO courts across 47 police districts.
- Four more Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 NDPS Act courts were ordered in Kanchipuram, Thiruvallur, Vellore and Chennai, adding to 11.
- Vijay ordered them after reviewing pending POCSO cases and asked for a court in every district.
