Tamil producers halt new theatre releases from September 1 over OTT window row
- Tamil Film Producers Council said on Saturday no new Tamil films will release in theatres from September 1.
- The move follows theatre owners and distributors deciding to screen only films with an eight-week OTT window.
- Producers said the decision was taken without consulting them and that advance payments were also halted.
- Shooting and post-production will also stop, with producers urging the Tamil Nadu government to intervene.
