Teacher makes rare discovery of first adult T Rex trackway during fossil hunt in US
- Kent Hups, a high school teacher, discovered the first-ever adult T rex trackway while volunteering in North Dakota.
- The discovery includes four tridactyl footprints, each approximately 1 metre long and estimated to be 66.5 million years old.
- The trackway, measuring 23 feet, suggests the T rex walked at a speed of 3.4 to 4.5 miles per hour, researchers said.
- Hups co-authored a study detailing this rare find, which was published on September 8 in the Journal of Vertebrate.
