The Nifty closes lower at 22,622, giving back part of Tuesday’s gains

The Nifty 50 closed down 99 points at 22,622, with the Sensex falling 252 points to 72,781.
Both gave back part of Tuesday’s rally, when the Nifty had risen 1.6 per cent on IT buying.
Rising crude prices and continued foreign investor selling weighed on the market.
Pharma fell 1 per cent, while Nestle, Tata Consumer and Infosys were among the gainers.
