This Andhra village has been in the dark since May
- Vedullavalasa is a Gadaba tribal village in Anakapalli district. It has had no working street lights for three months.
- Women in the village say snakes and centipedes now move around freely after dark, and that they no longer feel safe stepping outside at night.
- Residents held a candlelight rally and a protest to demand that the lights be restored.
- Tribals blame poor coordination between the panchayat secretary, the lineman and the electricity department over unpaid bills and demand notices.
