Three sisters are back in Afghanistan, hoping the Taliban will one day need educated women
- Three Afghan sisters were deported from Iran to Afghanistan in 2026, after years of living and studying there.
- The family had returned to Afghanistan in 2010, but fled to Iran again in 2017 as violence and insecurity grew.
- Back in Herat, the sisters face Taliban restrictions that bar women and girls from schools, universities, most jobs and public spaces.
- They now attend unofficial private classes using family savings, hoping to continue their education despite the lack of recognised diplomas.
