Three women cling to Grand Canyon ledge for 5 hours during flash flood
- Three American women were trapped on a rock ledge for nearly five hours, hanging on for survival after a sudden flash flood hit the Grand Canyon.
- Sisters Jessica Buscher and Melanie McGuirk, along with friend Katie Brink, were hiking when mud, rocks and floodwater swept through the canyon.
- The women were briefly separated and each feared the others had been swept away by the powerful floodwaters.
- A rescue helicopter eventually spotted them and airlifted them to safety, as the wider flood left two people dead and one missing.
