Twitter.now launches, trying to bring back the blue bird
- When Elon Musk renamed Twitter as X in 2022, a startup called Operation Bluebird argues, he abandoned the name and the bird logo.
- It is led by Stephen Coates, who was Twitter's own head of trademark counsel before Musk bought the company.
- A judge indicated in April that the trademarks may no longer be protected, so the group has now launched Twitter.now.
- X is suing to stop it, though the app has only hundreds of users and an automated fact checker called 'Vera.'
