Ukraine launches ‘Army of Robots’ to replace soldiers in dangerous battlefield missions against Russia
- Former Ukrainian defence minister Mykhailo Fedorov has launched an “Army of Robots” initiative to develop battlefield machines.
- The robots could handle dangerous tasks including evacuating wounded soldiers, delivering ammunition, reconnaissance and mine-clearing.
- The project will invest in defence-tech firms, fund research and test robotic systems with Ukraine’s military.
- Fedorov says the initiative builds on Ukraine’s “Army of Drones” programme launched in 2022.
