Andhra Pradesh to announce local body election schedule after gazette notifications

Andhra Pradesh will announce local body poll dates after gazette notifications, officials said on October 13.
Election Commissioner Anil Chandra Punetha met representatives of 20 political parties to discuss poll preparations.
The state announced reserved seats for women and disadvantaged groups in 17 corporations and 106 local bodies.
The government capped total reservations at 50% after courts rejected the proposed 34% Backward Classes quota.
