Andhra's Lingampalli Himaja wins James Dyson Award 2026 for voice-enabled Braille printer
- Andhra Pradesh student Lingampalli Himaja won the India national stage of the James Dyson Award 2026 for RUDHRA, a voice-enabled Braille printer.
- RUDHRA converts spoken words into Braille, allowing visually impaired users to create, edit and print documents through voice commands.
- The device uses Alexa to convert speech into text, while a Raspberry Pi creates reverse Braille patterns before embossing them onto paper.
- Himaja will receive about ₹6 lakh, while RUDHRA advances to the international round alongside two other Indian entries.
