Apple Pay finally launches in India, starts with Axis Bank credit cards
- Apple Pay on September 30 launched in India, nearly 12 years after its US debut in 2014.
- At launch, users can add eligible Axis Bank Visa and Mastercard credit cards to Apple Wallet.
- Apple Pay works for contactless store payments and online purchases using an iPhone, iPad or Apple Watch.
- RuPay and UPI aren't supported at launch, while HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank and SBI Card are also not initially included.
