Banks will operate on Sunday, 27 September, to enhance customer convenience
- Public sector and regional rural banks will operate normally on Sunday, September 27, 2026, across India.
- RBI approved bank branches, offices, ATM-linked branches and currency chests to remain fully operational that Sunday.
- The decision comes before UFBU’s proposed three-day nationwide bank strike from September 28 to September 30.
- Government and bank managements appealed to unions to defer the strike and ensure essential services continue uninterrupted.
