Calcutta High Court hands doctor’s cremation case to CBI for probe
- The Calcutta High Court has transferred the Khardah police FIR over the RG Kar doctor’s cremation to the CBI.
- The case concerns allegations of a hurried cremation, criminal conspiracy and destruction of evidence after the doctor’s death.
- The court said both the CBI and West Bengal Police could not investigate the same issue separately.
- Khardah Police has been ordered to stop further action and hand over all case records to the CBI’s SIT.
