Census workers to receive training on religion, caste and other sensitive questions
- The Centre has created a training framework for 34 lakh Census enumerators to handle sensitive questions during population enumeration.
- Enumerators will be trained to ask about religion, caste, language, disability, migration, fertility and economic activity.
- The training will focus on appropriate questioning and correctly recording responses, especially for sensitive and complex categories.
- The second phase will ask 40 questions per household, with enumeration scheduled across most of India from December 1 to March 1.
