Centre cuts windfall tax on petrol, diesel and ATF exports from September 16
- The Centre cut the windfall tax on petrol exports to Rs 0.5 per litre from Rs 1.5, effective 16 September.
- Diesel export levy was cut by Rs 5 to Rs 20 per litre, and ATF's levy was cut to Rs 15 from Rs 19 per litre.
- This marks the latest fortnightly revision since the levies began on 27 March 2026 amid the West Asia crisis.
- Rates are revised based on average international crude, petrol, diesel and ATF prices; Brent stood at $107.8/barrel.
