Centre issues TV advisory on AI use and inflammatory debates

The Information and Broadcasting Ministry told private satellite TV channels to follow the Programme Code.
The rules bar programmes that promote communal or anti-national attitudes, the Wednesday advisory said.
It said AI, including generative AI, should be used only in an assistive role in news programmes.
Channels were told to mute, add disclaimers or cut feeds if debates turn abusive or inflammatory.
