Centre to lower NEET-SS qualifying percentile from 50th to 30th after SC directive
- The Centre told the Supreme Court on 17 September it would lower the NEET-SS qualifying percentile from 50th to 30th.
- The move follows the top court's 10 September directive asking the government to reconsider its earlier decision.
- The change would make about 6,000 more candidates eligible, helping fill 1,857 vacant super speciality seats.
- The Centre also agreed to return 40 vacant in-service seats in Tamil Nadu for a state-run stray vacancy round.
