Chandrababu announces 34% BC Quota in AP Municipalities
- CM N Chandrababu Naidu told the Assembly on August 18 that Andhra Pradesh will provide 34% reservation for BCs across municipalities.
- Naidu said he had introduced 34% BC reservation in 1995 and accused the previous government of cutting it to 24.5%.
- He said the TDP-led government’s goal is political empowerment of BC communities through stronger local representation.
- Naidu criticised the previous government for not approaching the Supreme Court after the High Court struck down GO MS 176.
