China rejects US 'long-arm jurisdiction' over tariffs tied to Russian oil purchases

- The US House passed the Sanctioning Russia and Iran Act 2026 on Wednesday, in a 262-159 vote, targeting India and China.
- China's opposition comes ahead of President Xi Jinping's planned US visit for a summit on 24-25 September.
- Separately, China's Commerce Ministry said talks were underway with the US on a reciprocal tariff reduction framework.
