China told its offices to delete Windows
- On August 18, China's security ministry told government bodies to remove a special version of Windows 10 from their computers, saying it was unsafe. It did not say what the problem was.
- Microsoft built it in 2016 with a Chinese government company, specially to follow China's own security rules.
- It was supposed to be removed in February 2027. That has now been moved forward by months.
- Microsoft says it does not know of any security problem. Chinese companies that make their own operating systems became more valuable.
