China’s first 'AI film' opened in 10,000 cinemas on Friday

China’s first fully AI-generated feature film, Sanxingdui: Future Past, opened in cinemas on Friday.
Presales stood at 65,000 yuan, about $9,700. Total takings were forecast to stay under 100,000 yuan.
• It cost more than 10 million yuan and took nearly 100 people over two years to make.
More than 10,000 screenings were scheduled. AI short dramas drew 200 billion views on Douyin in September.
