- Delhi recorded 1,901 rape cases in 2025, down from 2,076 in 2024 and 2,141 in 2023.
- Reported cases had risen from 1,636 in 2013 to a peak of 2,199 in 2015, after post-Nirbhaya legal reforms changed reporting.
- The lowest figure in this period was 1,699 in 2020, when Covid lockdown restrictions affected movement and reporting.
- Experts caution that registered cases alone cannot show the true level of sexual violence because many assaults go unreported.
