Disney taps former Character.AI chief for top tech role despite earlier dispute
- Disney has hired former Character.AI CEO Karandeep Anand as its first-ever chief technology officer.
- Anand will join Disney on October 2 and report directly to CEO Josh D’Amaro.
- The move comes a year after Disney sent Character.AI a cease-and-desist over alleged copyright infringement involving its characters.
- Anand will oversee Disney’s technology, infrastructure, data and AI platforms, with some Character.AI engineers expected to join him.
