Golden Globes place Michael Jackson biopic in drama category, rejecting musical bid
- The 2027 Golden Globes rejected Michael Jackson's biopic Michael from the Musical or Comedy category.
- • Officials reportedly ruled that the film's songs did not contribute enough to its storyline to qualify as a musical.
- Starring Jackson's nephew Jaafar Jackson, the film will instead compete in the Drama category, potentially against The Odyssey.
- Film studio Lionsgate can appeal the decision before October 31, hoping to restore the film's Musical or Comedy classification.
