Greece passes social media ban for under-15s from January 2027

Greece’s parliament passed a law on Friday banning social media use by people under the age of 15.
Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis’s New Democracy party used its majority, with no other party backing it.
The law takes effect on 1 January 2027 and will require age verification, with penalties for companies.
