Haridwar man wins case over pizzas three inches smaller than ordered
- A customer ordered two 10-inch pizzas for ₹505, but alleged that both delivered pizzas measured only 7 inches.
- The Haridwar consumer commission held the delivery platform and eatery liable for deficiency in service and unfair trade practice.
- The commission rejected the platform’s claim that it was merely an intermediary, saying it formed an integral part of the service chain.
- The parties were ordered to pay ₹10,520 within 45 days, including refund, delivery charges, ₹5,000 compensation and ₹5,000 legal costs.
