Mayawati says BSP will contest Punjab polls alone without any alliance
- BSP chief Mayawati said on Tuesday the party will contest the Punjab Assembly elections alone, without any alliance.
- She said its previous alliance with the Shiromani Akali Dal caused losses in seats, vote share and worker morale.
- Mayawati met Punjab office-bearers at the party’s Lucknow office and stressed the need to select honest and hardworking candidates.
- She said preparations would also intensify for the Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand elections due next year.
