High price to protest? Ramlila Maidan booking fee reaches ₹1.21 lakh

Ramlila Maidan, a new protest site in Delhi, costs Rs 1.21 lakh for a single day booking, complicating demonstrations.
Only three days remain available for booking this year: December 29, 30, and 31, with no slots for two months.
A small free section allows gatherings of 150 people, but larger protests face significant financial and logistical hurdles.
Delhi Police Commissioner Anurag Kumar announced the site on October 11, replacing Jantar Mantar as a protest venue.
