Hyderabad’s new RTC-Metro common pass faces backlash over high daily travel costs

Telangana introduced RTC-Metro common passes in Hyderabad to make travel easier, with a daily pass priced at ₹400 and a monthly pass at ₹8,500.
The ₹400 daily pass covers ₹300 worth of Metro travel and ₹100 worth of bus travel, while the monthly pass costs ₹8,500.
Commuters criticised the high prices, saying buying separate bus and Metro tickets could sometimes be cheaper than using the common pass.
The government would review the fares following public complaints and explore ways to make travel more affordable.
