- Karnataka minister Priyank Kharge said IAS officer Gyanendra Gangwar, missing since August 20, was in Uttar Pradesh.
- Kharge said Gangwar left suddenly as his father, a heart patient, fell ill, and had sought a week's leave.

- Gangwar, a 2016-batch officer, was KPSC controller of examinations until March this year.
