ICE arrests surge under Trump, with more immigrants having no criminal record
- ICE arrested more than 49,000 immigrants in July, the highest monthly total since Trump returned to the White House.
- More than half of those arrested in July had no criminal record, the highest share recorded in a single month since January 2025.
- Nearly 40% of the more than 5,00,000 people ICE has arrested since Trump returned to office had no criminal record.
- The arrests have expanded beyond people accused of serious crimes to include people with expired visas, pending asylum cases and other immigration violations.
