India proposes mandatory auto-braking systems in new cars from 2030
- The Road Transport Ministry has proposed making Advanced Emergency Braking Systems AEBS mandatory in all new car models from October 2030.
- Existing car models that remain in production will have to include AEBS from October 2032 under the draft rules.
- • AEBS can automatically apply brakes if a driver fails to respond to an emergency, helping prevent crashes or reduce their impact.
