Indian firms turn to 10-year bonds as demand for long-term debt rises
- Indian firms are increasingly turning to 10-year and longer bonds as demand from insurers and pension funds stays strong.
- Four state-run firms raised ₹12,000 crore through long-term bonds over the past four days, Reuters reported.
- Power Finance Corp and REC each raised ₹2,500 crore, while Bajaj Finance raised ₹5,000 crore via 10-year notes.
- The shift comes as the yield gap between short- and long-term debt narrows, making longer-term borrowing more attractive.
