India’s formal job market is growing, but women are still underrepresented in the workforce
- India added 69.03 lakh net EPFO members between April and July 2025, showing strong formal job growth.
- Women made up only 25% of the flexi workforce, despite their labour force participation rate reaching 33.7%.
- Women accounted for just 17% of Quess Corp’s workforce, compared with 83% for men, the report found.
- Their representation was lowest in public enterprises, agriculture and telecom, at 5%, 6% and 9%, respectively.
