India’s historic Union Budget press to get new home in Delhi
- On August 21, plans emerged to shift the historic Union Budget Press from North Block to Kartavya Bhawan 9 in Delhi.
- The secure facility, which printed the Union Budget and Economic Survey, is planned for the ground floor of Kartavya Bhawan 9.
- The Budget Press had operated from North Block since a 1956-57 Budget leak, after which printing was moved inside the Finance Ministry.
- The old North Block press has now been dismantled as the building is being converted into a museum, while a press at Kartavya Bhawan 1 is operational.
