India’s unemployment rate falls to 5% in August, hits six-month low
- India’s unemployment rate fell to 5% in August from 5.1% in July, hitting a six-month low.
- Rural unemployment dropped to 4.1% from 4.5%, while urban unemployment rose slightly to 6.8%.
- The labour force participation rate rose to 55.6% in August from 55.4% a month earlier.
- The worker population ratio increased to 52.8% from 52.5%, pointing to a rise in employment.
