Karnataka bans analogue paneer for one year across the state
- Karnataka on August 17 banned analogue paneer sold under the paneer label for one year across the state.
- The order says replacing milk fat with vegetable oil or non-dairy ingredients is not permitted.
- Food businesses cannot use, store, supply or sell analogue paneer even as a raw ingredient in dishes.
- Frozen desserts, processed cheese and fat spreads remain unaffected under separate FSSAI standards.
