Ladakh clears long-pending land rights framework for Nautor holdings
- Ladakh LG Vinai Kumar Saxena approves rules to regularise over 60,000 acres of nautor land across the UT.
- Eligible occupants can get proprietary rights for up to 10 acres of nautor land under the new rules.
- Land beyond 10 acres may be allotted on a leasehold basis, while only land occupied before October 27, 2020 qualifies.
- The rules give LAHDCs in all seven districts authority over nautor land allotment and aim to resolve long-standing ownership issues.
