Major Navya Shekhawat becomes first woman Army officer to serve as President’s ADC
- Major Navya Shekhawat is the first woman Indian Army officer appointed as President Droupadi Murmu’s ADC.
- She joined the Army Service Corps after clearing the Combined Defence Services exam and training at the Officers Training Academy in Chennai.
- As an ADC, Shekhawat assists President Murmu during official ceremonies, diplomatic engagements and other duties at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
- She is the second woman overall to serve as the President’s ADC, after Navy officer Lieutenant Commander Yashasvi Solanki in 2025.
