NASA spots mysterious holes on mars' mount sharp, curiosity finds new puzzle
- NASA’s Curiosity rover spotted unusual broad, shallow pits while travelling through Valle Grande on Mount Sharp.
- The pits appeared different from typical impact craters, measuring about one centimetre across, NASA said.
- Curiosity used its MAHLI camera and Mastcam images to create three-dimensional models of the unusual formations.
- Scientists are studying the pits and nearby rocks to understand the geological processes that shaped this section of Mount Sharp.
