No charges on UPI up to ₹2,000 or RuPay cards, govt confirms new rules
- The government confirmed that UPI payments up to ₹2,000 and RuPay debit card payments will remain free of bank charges.
- Banks and payment providers cannot impose direct or indirect charges on people making or receiving these payments.
- The Finance Ministry issued the notification under the Payment and Settlement Systems Act to clarify the rules on charges.
